Just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful afternoon at St Leonards. It wasn't just the children who enjoyed your entertainment.
I and several other adults had a great time watching the show.
Thanks again.

I am a charity field worker in Asia and one of my more recent projects has been helping the tsunami survivors in Thailand.

"...Since January I have been working with the children and orphans in the worst hit areas of Thailand, Khao Lak, Phi Phi Island and Phuket.

It’s hard for us to imagine the multiple layers of grief that the children are sinking under. They have each lost multiple loved ones, a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, a teacher, a school friend as well as their homes, their toys in fact their complete normal framework in life came crashing down on the morning of December 26th 2004.

The stress symptoms are physical and mental, they can neither eat nor sleep well, most are afraid of the sea and some are so sacred of water they refuse to shower. The children crave attention from adults but many adults themselves are not ready, as they also need time to recover. Many children feel ignored and many have lost concentration and interest in school.

he was in Thailand... In conditions of intense heat and humidity, often dripping with sweat, he performed with professionalism, compassion and good humour, up to three shows a day for three weeks, on the beach, to the sea gypsies, to the orphans in the survivors camps, to the emotionally traumatized hotel staff on Phi Phi Island and to the widowed old people.

Nothing fazed him, last minute venue changes, a cramped environment, an extra show squeezed into an already busy schedule. I have seen him leap spontaneously on to a table in order to be seen by the large audience of little ones and heard him practising his Thai in order to be able to connect even more effectively with the children.

To hear a teacher comment that it was the first time she had seen her pupil smile in nearly five months, that was sure confirmation to me that the idea had worked.

But to put it simply Michael ‘made a difference’ to hundreds of peoples lives in Thailand during his stay,

From the bottom of my heart, thank you Michael
